Shivananda Yoga class is also suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners. It is classical Hatha Yoga in tradition of Swami Shivananda. We start class with joints exercises, pranayama (breathing techniques), continue with Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) and with around 15 poses and finish with relaxation. Class is pretty active so it develops muscles strength plus back and whole body flexibility. Every class is a little bit similar because of the class structure. This is a perfect class for these who are looking for routine and smooth practice. But you should know, that there is 84 basic asanas in Shivananda Yoga practice, so we always try something new.
Hatha Yoga class is suitable for beginners and advanced practitioners. I love to use B.K.S.Ayengar and Swami Shivananda techniques also techniques of my teachers. We start the class with joints warm up exercises, pranayama (breathing techniques) and then continue with classical structure of asana practice. Every class is interesting and a little different. Some days we dedicate more to strength, some days to stretching or different spots of the body. For example one class can be more for back flexibility, some for hips opening, some more dedicated to feeling the body and so on.
I advise you to take a beginners course if you never practiceD yoga before or if you had a long pause.
It will help you to know yoga poses better, understand the class structure, give you a lot of information about yoga philosophy, breathing exercises and yoga asana techniques and so much more.
